As Smazza would say, "I Knew that."  It's a shame Grothe just missed out for Mr. Football Of Florida, or we could have had dueling Mr. Football's this coming year.  ;D Insiders has not yet learned about his interest in USF, but I guess we replace the Miss State visit which was scheduled for 1/16. http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=1165118 At least it's a positive for USF that we have just been added to his list and that he apparently has no interest in UF and Low interest in both Miami and FSU. So, maybe we have a real shot at him if we wow him on his visit.

Two major recruiting guru's have him as the #1 QB (Lemming- who's a tool, and Garvin-who's a UT fool). The worst ranking Ryan has had is like 14th athlete overall, #2 QB in the nation (just behind Marc Sanchez), and #1 athletic QB in the nation.Think Vincent Young at UT. That good. After all, the #1 QB in the nation last year, Brian Brohm, went to Louisville and Pitt has a great QB in Tyler Palko. So, he could be our great QB and take us to a BCS game. Some players want to go to a school that already has great tradition. Many of the players who come to USF do so to create their own great tradition. A lot depends on the "mindset" of each player and what they hope their legacy will be in that program.A "great" player at USF can have a tremendous legacy.A "great" player at an already established program is just one of many who happened to come down the pike over the years, so his impact won't normally be as great. He evidently liked the idea of starting a tradition, but he's been under a lot of pressure to go the "safe" way.Who knows, Carlton might reconsider and reverbal to USF. Hallelujah!  ;D

If he is truly doing this out of respect for Dawsey, i don't see him "poisoning" anyone... only good would come out of it.
