Please see the notes below regarding tents that may be used during tailgating activities. These guidelines are city wide and are enforced by the City of Tampa. We hope you have a great time at the game on Saturday. Thanks and Go Bulls! Listed below are the rules that govern the use of Tents for Special Events: * A tent with a square footage in excess of 100 square feet shall require a permit. It shall have 1 2A-10BC rated fire extinguisher, or larger, with an up to date inspection tag. * A Tent Permit must be applied for through the Fire Marshal’s Office. * A site plan showing the property lines and the location of the tent shall be provided along with measurements. Tents must be 10 feet away from structured building. * A floor plan shall be provided showing what is under the tent along with measurements. * A letter from the property owner stating that permission has been granted for the tent to be erected on their property. * The dates that the tent will be installed and taken down, with a contact number for our office to schedule an inspection. * A copy of all occupational licenses. * A copy of the certificate of flame resistance for the tent. If no certificate exists upon inspection, no cooking will be allowed. * All tents utilized for sale of Pyrotechnics shall be provided with a Water Extinguisher and 1- 4A-80BC or 2 - 2A-10BC rated fire extinguishers, or larger, with an up-to-date inspection tag. All Grease-Laden cooking shall require a minimum of one K-Fire Extinguisher with an up to date service tag. * A tent greater than 1200 square feet shall have the exits marked with electric exit signs that have battery backup, and the tent shall have emergency lighting. * The tent permit shall be no more than 30 days unless approved by the Fire Marshal’s office and the City of Tampa Zoning Department. * The cost for the first tent over 10’ X 10’ is $60.00. Any additional tents are $40.00 each. * Tents must be a minimum of 2’ apart. * No tying of 10’ X 10’ tents to make it larger. If that is founded, the fee will be double for the first tent and any additional tents. * An overhang that extends from a 10’ X 10’ tent, which now makes it greater than 10’ X 10’ tent, will require a Tent Permit. * LP Tanks must be a minimum of 5’ from cooking appliances and heat ignitions with an approved UL Hose Line. * The Tank must not be under the tent during operation. Would a E-Z Up canopy be considered a tent? I know we have some people in athletics that post here so im hoping for some confirmation before tomorrow sine it is after 5pm on a Friday. I think this might be absurd if it comes down to the EZ up tents
