So, yeah...bound to be some mistakes here and there. Also, had some redshirt freshmen experience out there, too. Yeah, we didn't have a good game, but it was nice to see the young guys get some meaningful p.t. I know that both USF and UF lost a number of players to the draft this year and it's difficult to replace all of them at one time, even for Florida.I also know that Florida has been a pipeline to the NFL, so I'm curious as to how many players on your OL and DL do you expect to be drafted this year? From the lines....probably not as many big-time contributors as last year when we lost Pouncey, Dunlap and Cunningham. Also losing Spikes who can play the rush end hurt. (Insert amateur porn joke here). In sheer numbers, we'll lose veterans on the O-line...Pouncey, Johnson, Hurt, Gilbert. Off the D-line, we'll lose Marsh, Sanders, Trattou, Lemmens and Antwine. However, that's why it's imperative we work top recruits into the rotation. Won't be able to do it every week or as early as they'd like, but they'll see time. Guys like Powell, Floyd and Easley are too talented to not see the field.

I have been reading about the discontent among some fans and media about Offensive coordinator Steve Addazio,s and his so called , conservative play calling and was wondering if you have any insider information about this ? I mean do you think this could be an distraction among the team or is this totally an outside the box thing ?

Like Sun Columnist Pat Dooley said, Addazio kept this team together when Meyer was going through all his health stuff. Which includes the top-ranked recruiting class he helped to reel in. Addazio can be conservative at times, but against Cincy last year, you see what he can do with the offense. What do people want when the execution wasn't there? They couldn't snap the freakin' ball on Saturday. Did people want Brantley running flea-flickers, hook and laterals and halfback passes? They ran from the I and other sets to change the pace and stay vanilla as possible. Meyer never opens up the playbook in the opener. Most good coaches don't tip their hand with a superior opponent coming in next. We played like crap for 80% of the day and came away with the win. It was the ugliest win since I started watching games in my freshman year in '94. People who start websites like firesteveaddazio.com and want to call for his head need a more time consuming hobby. I'll reserve judgment on the play-calling after a few games against higher caliber opponents.

They think after having lost JPP and Selvie that we are much weaker, but I don't think that will be the case because we have more overall talent and depth. Also, last year our OL was very young and this year they are much bigger, stronger and with a lot more experience under their belt.I think this game will be won in the trenches and USF should be able to match up very well with UF in that regard. I think this is where UFS fans don't really have a good read on UF fans at all. We've heard the noise from the USF program for years. Leavitt did a great job of getting the word out and getting you guys in people's heads. UF fans have seen the games and have plenty of friends and relatives who are fans, alums. Just because we may not know all the names beyond Grothe, Pierre-Paul, Selvie and Daniels...doesn't mean we don't take your boys seriously. This is a huge game for USF. So, thusly a huge game for us. It's an in-state game. We recruit the heck out of the Tampa area and winning this game would go a long way for your program. Florida knows that...coaches, players...fans. We don't think we're facing late 90's USF..we know we're facing a program on the rise with a very good coach and staff. What remains to be seen is how they will match up. Maybe on paper it looks even...but, we'll see on Saturday. That's why they play the games. I know USF will be ready. You can also count on Florida being ready. Sure, there are going to be plays called that we second-guess...that's the nature of fandom. But, the coaches are watching practice, game film...scheming all week...they know the best plays to run. It makes me laugh when John Q. Public just knows that there are "better" plays to run. What a joke.

Am I understanding this correctly?

Well, I doubt the match-up on paper looks anywhere near even, considering your roster is made up mostly of 4 and 5 star blue-chip players and we have primarily 3 star guys. That probably translates into a lot more depth at just about all positions and that should work even more to your advantage on what figures to be a very hot day in the Swamp. You aren't a 16.5 point Vegas favorite just because they like your uniforms better.
