Should the BE continue with their current (non) strategy of sitting back, doing nothing, and waiting while other conference pick who they want

I still find it amusing how people think that the Big East is sitting back and doing nothing. Just because nothing is being reported in the paper doesn't mean something isn't going on.

The PAC 10/Big 12 rumor came from out of nowhere. What happens if the alleged 6 Big 12 programs go nowhere? I'd rather not have someone with loose lips spewing fallacies.

Looks like there are invites on the table they just haven't been sent yet according to some big 12 officials.  if i was big east football schools I would be on the phone with commish to try and get kansas, kansas state at least.  It would be great for football and even better for basketball.  If he says no then the football schools should say goodbye and merge with the 4 or 5 left over big 12 teams.

Let's pretend we are actually in Lala Land where a conference composed of eastern teams would even be willing to consider adding teams from the great plains.

The Big East cannot truly be proactive here unless the basketball schools are okay with growing bigger.  And the only way that would happen is if the Big East added non-football schools as well.

It's like the slave/non-slave balance in the early 1800s... only without the racsim and social injustices.

Add Kanas? Sure, then we add UMass.  Add KSTate? Okay, but we get to add Xavier.

probably not as easy as it sounds.

and not to get geographical on anyone...but Kansas and Kansas st have no business being in a conf called "Big East'

Neither does Cincy, Marquette, and DePaul

I voted no, because of geography.  If they can find a way to make it work(probably by inviting 2 other schools south or west) I might be for it.  It is about the same distant for usf to go to kansas or jersey.  I think if the big east wants to pick up a big time program those two schools would be the ones they would pick up because of basketball.

Lawrence is about an hour (drive) from the KC airport and Manhattan is 2 hours.

Another important travel consideration is the number of non-stop flights there are from TPA to each destination.

Should the BE continue with their current (non) strategy of sitting back, doing nothing, and waiting while other conference pick who they want, or should Marnatto be burning up the phone lines bringing in the likes of KU and KSU immediatly while also announcing a BE network.  So basically, do nothing or act now.  Which one.

no way

usf crys hey dont have money too pay assistan coaches no

how can they afford to send  all their teams to kansas!!!!!!

kansas is just as far away as the northern teams in the big east now.  colorado would be the tough one to swallow.  they are almost 2000 miles away.

They can fly to KC just as easily as they can fly to Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, or Hartford.

Except the trip from KC to Manhattan or Lawrence is further than from Covington across the river to Cincy ... and even further than Hartford to Storrs.

That may be true for USF, but how about the other 15 teams in the BE?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
