A bit off topic...how do guys perform this badly and get accepted into college? 840 on the SAT???

Who said he had been accepted yet? There's still a year to improve that SAT score.

I guarantee we have players on our roster with a similar SAT score. It's a fairly average score among athletes it seems.

It's embarrassing, you can basically just smear your pencil lead across the sheet and get that score.

yep, I wrote a paper for a class on it last semester. NCAA standards are LOW to say the least.

OVERRATED!!!!

And Hatter. How good is your brother at throwing a football? Smart enough to know how to wear a jock strap? Point is, who the heck cares if he got a 820 besides you guys?

Fisher. Then based on your feelings of academic grandeur, Tim Tebone wasn't SMART enough to win a national championship, nor was that cat from Texas, or even JaMarcus Russell from LSU. Woops. All SEC QB's, with the higher levels of scholastic achievement and sheet.

That doesn't follow logically from what he said. More like, being really smart isn't necessary to win championships.

The argument isn't that football players should be able to get higher scores. The argument is that scores in the 800s are embarrassing for anyone. They shouldn't want higher scores for football purposes, they should want higher scores to distinguish themselves intellectually from a dead tree.

No. The argument is people like you think everyone should run a 1180 and if they don't they are , as you put it, "as dumb as a tree." That's your pompous opinion. Isn't the real problem that you and the other guy judge players like Atkins and kids like him (primarily black players, I'll go there) who are doing the best they can from places like The Muck, who we all know isn't Ivy League, that somehow, by the grace of God above, they should come up to the standards that YOU think that they should have. I guess they should somehow move - again by the grace of God - down to Miami where kids can get rigged 3.8's and 800's so that their academic standards near your "rigid" requirements.

Keep sipping' on your Latte' while these kids are trying to find out who their daddy is, where the next meal may come, and why they aren't so fortunate to enjoy the lives that so many of us bloggers here are so fortunate to have.

Yu really thing they feel like morons because of a BAD GRADE. They've had 12 years of not-so-good grades.

Again. If the previous poster feels like his nephew, or whoever he is, can run a football or throw one better than the 'tards" we have now in place, feel free to have his mommy AND daddy call Skippy. He could use his intelect and simply "outsmart" the dumb ones.

Actually, I believe the point fisher was getting at is that it doesn't matter what WE think. He's got to get by the AC to get in ...
