I know it doesn't need to be said again, but it is so refreshing to see a coach who's as active in the media and with fans as Coach Holtz. Not to take away any of CJL's accomplishments, of course.

Anyway, for those that haven't had a chance/excuse to do so yet, start following @CoachHoltz on Twitter. I have his account set up to send tweets (Good lord I hate that name) to my phone as a text message. He's always got something positive to say, and is getting me really fired up for the football season. He's also quick to give props to the BasketBulls. So far, my favorite message has been, simply, "GREEN!!!" I would love to know how many "GOLD!!!!!" got sent his way, haha.

the personalaity of CJL was what we needed while we were making our way up the ranks of college football and Coach Holtz's personalaity is what we need to get to the new level.

we needed holtz or a coach like him when we went to d1a

usf needed a salesman to sell d1a recruits

we finally have that salesman

in hindsight it is obvious leavitt wasnt up to the task

i told all of you that for years and i find it funny that everyone is so surprised now

I doubt we'll see him be out in public next offseason. He'll still remain more available than Leavitt I think, but most of this was probably designed by athletics for people to get to know the new coach...and make him seem like the last person who'd hit a kid.

Good point Smazza.  I did not hear you say we need a salesmen but it was not Leavitt strong point that is for sure.

holtz is definitely a better salesman than leavitt.  Hopefully he is a better coach on the field also.
