Eh, whatever.  Mike Jenkins and Trae Williams weren't super highly touted recruits and they turned into arguably the best CB tandem in the country.  Coach 'em up Skip!

Jenkins was a big time player. Was rated Top 100 Florida talent and received offers from the likes of Auburn, Clemson, LSU, Nebraska and Iowa. I do agree that there are plenty of diamonds in the rough, you just have to find them and mold them. Hopefully Skip can do that.

After going to the USF @ FSU game this year I can understand why some recruits will pick FSU over USF.

It is not the stadium, the campus or the facilties.

FSU is in a worse "hood" than USF, and the Folwer/Fletcher area will never surpass the FSU area in level of "hood"-ness.

Some of these guys probably feel right at home.

Disgusting how the state capital is one big dump.

Why don't you read direct quotes from the player before you make statements like it being "directly because leavitt firing"

Here is the article...

and specific quote...

“You could say that [Leavitt’s firing at USF] had something to do with my decision but more than anything, I just wanted FSU more than the other schools,†Mitchell said.

youre kidding right?

i've spent a lot of time on FSU's campus. FSU has the prototypical college feel that USF is trying so desperately to capture.  They have real sorority and fraternity houses, they have more students that walk to school than drive, they are a traditional college.  USF is much more modern and doesn't feel nearly as personal, thus the lack of ability to get the students and alumni to connect to the university in a meaningful manner; until very recently parlaying the success of the football program into revenue and connections.

we need 10 years to get the campus more resident student friendly. its like its own city with major roads and everything

at fsu, you have the small town college feel, thats a draw to a lot of students
