I recall the basketball HC search that brough Heath in here. Lots of the same sorts of nail biting and skepticism. But Woolard took his time and got a good man for the job.

I was disappointed to log on and see that Tuberville won't be joining us, but I believe that Woolard is aware of all the same factors we're discussing and will find a good fit for this program.

Make us proud Doug

Throw a tent over the USF Athletics circus, including Woolard the Ringleader.

Our recruiting class is going to SUCK!

Why do you say that?

One bad class is not the end of the world. A constant string of 45th ranked classes (fighting for 3-4th in the Big East) would. I'll take a bad class if that is what it takes to bring in a coach who can bring in top players.

This is not the time of year to take too much time on this hire. One factor in the Heath hiring that will probably not be in play here is that Heath was fired and practically fell in our lap. We had already had a couple of candidates on campus prior to that and they went elsewhere.

I trust he will make the best hire, but it will have to be on a more accelerated time schedule.

lol we competed better with cusa players then we do now. I wouldnt say the recruiting class is going to hurt us. If we can land a name brand coach we will slip a few recruits and keep the ones we have. I wouldnt worry about it. Lets just wait for a coach first. Pretend we arent allowed to recruit for awhile.

As already alluded to, Woolard took his time because nobody wanted the **** job and CSH fell into our laps after getting fired .... Maybe we SHOULD take a run at Leach. He's the most attractive out there now that TT is gone. At least he didn't deny what he did.

I would love Leach to be the next coach, but this PC world cant take it. USF would look so bad at hiring another coach after getting rid of another coach for player abuse. It would go against everything that Genshaft said in that press conference.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
