A lot of things come into play here.

1) TTU is offering more money

2) USF was late in the game with Tuberville

3) Tuberville and Leavitt are good friends, so maybe Tuberville feels that USF wronged Leavitt about the firing

4) Maybe USF is aiming at different candidates, so Tuberville new he had to jump on the TTU opportunity.

The best thing that comes out of this is that USF wont have to worry about the TTU opening when they are doing negotiations on hiring a new coach which could save money on the bargaining.

****. That almost ensures I will be unhappy with USF's next head coach.

Supposedly, Pete Carrol is going to the NFL, so, we still have a program out there with an opening.

In the perfect world, Leavitt will end up at USC so that smazza can enjoy more years of pulling for CJL.  ;D

Kevin Sumlin!! Top offense in the country the two seasons he was there. And keep Tresey as DC.

I don't think anyone offered the package that Tuberville did.

Bowdens - unimpressive. Golden - unimpressive. The numerous assistants mentioned - unimpressive.

I would take Bowden, Smart, Magee, Spurrier (retirement job for those of you worried about loyalty....lol), and heck I'd even take Rich Rod. I really do want an offensive minded coach though.

i wouldnt mind tommy bowden, look at the rankings of his recruiting classes while he was at clemson...top 10 almost every year.

But what was he able to do with all of those top 10 recruiting classes?!

Yeah, which speaks volumes about his lack of consistent success.  I would prefer him to diminutive brother Terry, however.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
