This is not about money, it is not about boosters, it is about a violation of the university rules.

People this is not a conspiracy. Get past it.

Really?  Once again, I was not the biggest fan of Leavitt.  That said, the fact that this was driven by a scribe known to make up stories and The Great Prevaricator who  rarely talked about USF football makes one wonder.  The conflicting reports and displeasure being expressed by some players is disconcerting.

Grow up. If it was just about a "violation" it would have been a slap on the wrist at worst, most likely swept under the carpet.

It was all about image. Miller was a convenient "issue" for the administration to rid themselves of a coach they thought no longer fit in, just like Adam James was used to get at Leach.

You don't know that yet... none of us will until a new coach is hired... if USF hires a big name coach or a coach that has done something like win a NC or compete for one then you would be right.

However if USF hires some stooge assistant then your dead wrong and this was about money... in that case then Judy and co need to join Leavitt in the unemployment line.

I'm withholding my judgment until we hire a new coach.

Yeah and Kansas and Texas Tech were looking for excuses too. Give me a break. Jeez.

What big name coach? The big named coaches I know are in contracts way out of USF's league or have been fired from not producing a winner for several seasons and the coaches that came in after have yet to fix the screwed up programs they inherited.

Don't know about Kansas, but I'd guess yes. Manjino was physically embarrassing for the school

TT? Absolutely. That's exactly Leach's basis for his own lawsuit.

Look I am up for a good conspiracy theory any day but this is not one of those times. Well I know that the "boosters" were surprised about it. Second the cheapest way out would have been to keep Leavitt.

If he would have came out and owned it from the beginning you are probably right. They would have kept him around. His actions afterward put him over the edge.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
