Villanova in I-AA Football Championship Game

Temple should come back.  along with Troy.

good 10 team conference that.

What?!?!?!?!?! If we added Temple and Troy, this conference would be viewed as less than C-DOA. Come on fellers, lets be serious here and realize that we wont be taking any school of that caliber. IMHO, its going to be Memphis and the other.....well that is TBD, because there is no one out there at the current time that would benefit the Big East other than Memphis.

Here are two...

* Tulane => New Orleans media market, good baseball program, C-USA rivalries with L'ville, Cincy, and USF...

* Houston => Major media market, good baseball program as well, Phi Slamma Jamma basketball... and they used to be in a major conference: (the Southwest conference with Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, etc)...

Tulane could work, but Houston is too far out of the region.  USF supplies enough problems with Treavel.  Atleat Tulane to USF and UL isn't bad.

Regionally Tulane and ECU, UCF, or Memphis work much better.

The differences between Tulane, Houston, and Memphis are trivial... they are all in the Central time zone and they all have large metropolitan airports... heck, from a pure cost perspective, Houston is probably the cheapest with more airfare options.

USF won't be driving to Memphis or New Orleans anyway, so getting on a plane and flying to Houston isn't that much different than flying to Memphis or N'awlins.

If you want to talk about regionalism, UCF, FAU or FIU would work better than ECU or Memphis or Tulane (or Houston)... two Florida schools would allow the Olympic sports to piggyback trips down (@ USF then @ <other florida school>).

Lets leave ucIF outta the discussion please.  The last thing the Big East needs is the worst fan base giving us ALL a bad image!

big east needs to proven winner from a  bcs conference than wants in the big east like a boston college or maryland

another crummy school will not help the big east

big east is better off remaining small

The Big East just needs a "Temple" to even out the schedule and bring us up to 9 teams... I say add Tulane or Memphis... both are a quick road trip away with NO being the closest to Tampa.

Also by adding Tulane it would make for a killer road trip every other season to the big easy... Memphis would also make for a good road trip.

The 9th team does not need to be an addition of substance in football because eventually the Cuse will climb out of the basement and we will need a sure win.

Don't agree with a lot of what you say, but you are SPOT on about this.

If BE can't convince BC or Maryland...stand pat and WAIT.

See if, for example ECU becomes the next Boise of the East.  Then think about adding them.

BE does NOT need to expand unlike before.

Temple, Troy, Tulane, are you kidding me??????????  You can't be serious.

The only teams I am remotely interested from Conference Dead on Arrival is ECU (expanding FB stadium to 50K) or possibly TCU from MWC and even then they are stretches.

They've said no several times. ...

Exactly ... the school does not want to go to 1A.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
