With out all the whining and griping, who's going to Toronto?

My family of 3 will be there on Wednesday. Making a mini vacation out of it.

Booked out my own travel yesterday. Two things: I'll warn you that renting a car in Toronto is an expensive deal -- was looking at close to $500 US for four days up there. So I'm not getting a car -- just cabbing as i need to.

If you want a cheaper option, fly into Buffalo. It's about an hour and a half from Toronto, but you can fly roundtrip for about $295 (as low as $266, but it had some nasty layovers) from Tampa into Buffalo and drive from there. Cars were more reasonable renting out of Buffalo as well.

If you want to save a night in hotel, there are flights as late as 7:30 out of Toronto and back to Tampa on the 2nd ...

too expensive/not worth it.  first i\\\'ll be missing.

i would love to see Toronto, and would spend upwards of a grand to travel to see the Bulls play a decent opponent (did so to get to El Paso), but not spending all that to go to Toronto in January to play NIU

will buy a ticket through USF athletics, though.  good souvenir and it boosts priority points, not that i think we\\\'ll need them for at least another season or two given the letdowns of the past couple years.

SO let's see you have

Game Tix - $40

Airfare to Buffalo - $312 (on Expedia 5 min ago)

Hotel for 2 nights in Buffalo on Priceline with all fees - $108.00 (Split by another bullspen member - $54

Bus fare from Buffalo - Toronto - $35

So I get it that any $$ in this economy is a big deal and if you can't afford you can't but with the exception of the passport those figures are less then El Paso and right around Birmingham. You have to be resourceful - the truth is many aren't going because they don't want to which is fine but then say that not that Toronoto costs too much $$ because you can do it for the same or less as other Bowl games if you work at it.

This is the worse case scenario, we planned for it.

Didn't plan on both of us losing our jobs this summer, but hey! You do what ya gotta do.

Vacation is cut down to 4 days.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
