It's huge and looks pretty neat. We should have a name for it, similar to Toomer's Corner

Well I believe it started out as an acorn, went from there. Haha this guy! I really am laughing right now. But to answer your question, I do not believe it has any special designation or anything of that sort. It is pretty sweet, though.

I really like the one from the collins garage capturing the city and busch gardens in the same shot. The tree is one of my favorite features of campus. Texas A&M has a similar tree called the century tree that has a fun tradition behind it.... and it looks almost identical shown below. The story with the tree is that if you walk under it with your lover you will be together forever and if you walk under it alone you will be alone forever. So you will see people sometimes go out of their way to avoid it if they are walking alone. On the flip side lots of guys propose to their future wife under it. Also there is a $100,000 scholarship fund that is fully supported by selling seedlings from the tree for $250. Here is the facebook link, it was a really great a idea by the person who started it. https://www.facebook...turyTreeProject I'm sure given time the tree at USF will become a campus icon just have beautiful trees have on other campuses.
