I'll say it again. If we get the running game going (and keep it going more then the 1st qtr), PJ doesn't hurt us, and the receivers hold on to the ball, we have a chance.  D must really step it up also.

Bulldad...Nice to see your son finally get a chance to catch a ball thrown to him this year.

We should use the tight ends more like we started doing at UAB.

I know the other TE dropped one ball, but that shouldn't change our game plan.

This game could turn out to be like the TCU game.  I do not think Memphis' defense is that strong and as long as Andre opens up the running game we should be able to score.  I know the coaching staff does not want a losing season and the players do not want one either.  I expect two of the best games of the year especially since these are the last two at home for our seniors and you know they do not want to lose.

Thanks Howie, you don't know the feeling seeing him back in action after his knee injury.

Memphis has a good offense BUT their defense has allowed lots of points on the road, thus we have a good chance of taking them, but we must run the ball at least 42 times in the game.

Here are some facts:

Memphis on the road:

Mississippi 13 points

Arkansas St  35 points

UAB 35 points

Cincinnati 49 points

ECU 35 points

USF rushing attempts:

losses:

SC 22, USM 25, Army 53, UL 36, UC 28

wins:

TCU 55, UAB 48, ECU 56

Of the two remaining games, I am sure we all agree this will be the "easier"...

Neither game is unwinnable... but neither game can be "mailed" in, either... it all depends on whether or not USF can win another shootout (a la UAB)

A quick comparison...

Rushing Offense:

USF - 30th (187/gm)

MEM - 19th (202/gm)

PIT - 101st (107/gm)

Passing Offense:

USF  - 107th (158/gm)

MEM - 20th (262/gm)

PIT - 26th (253/gm)

Scoring Offense:

USF - 49th (26.89/gm)

MEM - 10th (36.4/gm)

PIT - 40th (28.78/gm)

Total Offense:

USF - 82nd (344/gm)

MEM - 10th (464/gm)

PIT - 72nd (360/gm)

Rushing Defense:

USF - 52nd (142/gm)

MEM - 37th (127/gm)

PIT - 41st (132/gm)

Passing Defense:

USF - 90th (240/gm)

MEM - 115th (276/gm)

PIT - 109th (265/gm)

Scoring Defense:

USF - 89th (30.78/gm)

MEM - 90th (30.8/gm)

PIT - 59th (25.11/gm)

Total Defense:

USF - 65th (382/gm)

MEM - 80th (402/gm)

PIT - 76th (397/gm)

Ok, Harmon must mean the score after the first quarter.

With the Memphis offense I to am suprised we are only four point dogs.  This game will be the same as Cinci.  If our offense runs a ball control game and gives Andre Hall the ball we should win.  By the way what happened to Andre after the first quarter ?  Why did we stop giving him the ball ?

seems we do that every game!
