Who on the team are considered the leaders right now?  I would like to think it is BJ, but as  a RSF he does not have the field expereince in my opinion to deliver a come to jesus meeting.  Selvie was, but his play may prohibit the proper energy, it depends on how he is working in practice and what the rest of the team think of his work ethic.

Would the team listen to Grothe at this point?

Last night I was thinking it would be great if one of the NFL players on their own initiative dropped in on the team this week to remind them that this is the week that makes champions.  That they can make the difference, and motivate these players to get out there and erase the debacle in Pitt.

Thought of it when Jenkins flashed the U, thought to myself that if he is thinking of the school, hopefully he is thinking I can help these guys get back to winning.

Nate Allen.

That's it.

Sabbath Joseph is probably the only other candidate.

No one on offense.

You would think that Selvie is the team leader but I have not heard of a story where he was taking over the duties as one.

I think a major part of our problem is that we are leaderless... Grothe was the team leader (I guess) and BJ is too "green" to take over right now.

Definetly Nate Allen on defense.  Maybe Mo Plancher by default of experience on offense if I had to pick one.  I don't expect BJ to be the "leader" of this team, at least not emotionally as a RFS.  Somebody needs to step up on offense, whether it be verbally or physically by playing an outstanding game at WVU.

Judging by the number and type of responses, the answer is not as obvious as in years past..

That is think is a core issue.  As I look at the team they do not have those couple players that can hold a players meeting.

I think back to the beginning of the year when one of the OL (can't remember who) got a personal foul after the play.  Grothe ran up to him, grabbed his face mask and had a little discussion as they walked off the yards.  that goes a long way on a young team.

Right now they need that voice of leadership to settle them down, tell them to focus, and get them fired up as a team.  A coach is not that person in my eyes, it is the team that has to do that.

not sure if your point was that because these are seniors, ipso facto, they are the team leaders.  if anything the list illustrates the severe lack of leadership among the senior class, esp when Grothe is removed
