That's "Big Red". My high school history teacher played football for WKU and we were taught, one day, about Big Red and why WKU's "The Hilltoppers"

I remember hearing the story of the HillToppers 20+ years ago when we were in the Sun Belt with them.  Seemed like a decent story, but I can't remember it. 

Perhaps a Hilltopper will stop by and share.
