Game Announcer Opinions

mikebeau - after posting this and doing some research, I learned that our announcer is indeed a Bulls announcer, and he is indeed the same guy as before. I bet he's an awesome guy, personally. Everyone I've asked about him today seems to have a high opinion of him personally. So, I throw back to my original post - even though I'm not happy with the announcing style lately, this is NOT a personal attack on whoever the announcer is. In addition, I've learned he is indeed forced into scripted announcing. WHICH MEANS - he used to have more flexibility to add to the gametime atmosphere, be it because he wasn't so scripted, or he had better scripting.

I've figured out who to contact; i.e. who "writes the announcer's script." SO. I'm putting out a call for ideas, so this great announcer guy can maybe get a little help from fans to have his superiors contacted to lobby for him to have more fun announcing like he used to. Capiche?

I was just being a smartass.  I like the announcer.  Most of the complaints i have seen or had myself have been scripted stuff like the "Advance the chains".  I also think he has had great stuff, like after the West Virginia game.  Exit gate B, as in Big East Champions.  Too bad it didnt come to fruition.  I am sure he has had to "stick to the script"  more now that we have more attendance.  It seems all facets of the gameday experience are under more scrutiny (see: Be respecta Bull).  That being said, I like the announcer.  I have met him.  He loves the Bulls. 

Also, just like the team,  he may not have been on the top of his game against Wofford.  Besides being the first game of the season, it is probably pretty **** tough to get every call right when the team has so many different players coming in and out.

I remember the guy a couple of years ago who did the announcing at the Bulls game had to do a Lightning game and they brought in someone else to fill in on those nights.  I thought the someone else did it last year and continues to do it this year.  So, who is the current announcer?  And don't tell me "whos on first".
