Brad Posted August 18, 2009 Group: Admin Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 97,043 Reputation: 10,833 Days Won: 469 Joined: 05/19/2000 Author Share Posted August 18, 2009 Courtesy USF:Great news for junior running back Jamar Taylor, who will be sidelined 8-10 weeks with what Coach Leavitt described as a knee sprain.Taylor was injured during last Saturday's scrimmage and many feared the injury would be season ending."We are excited for Jamar," said Leavitt. "Our team is excited that he won't need surgery and that he should be able to rejoin the team during the BIG EAST portion of the schedule."The Lakeland native has played in 23 career games and has 447 career yards and five touchdowns. His biggest moments have come in marquee wins over Kansas and West Virginia the last two seasons. Taylor was considered the best back on the team at the conclusion of the 2008 season and was battling Mo Plancher for the lead role in the backfield. He's really slippery between the tackles and doesn't have a bad burst to get around the corner. I'm excited about the speedsters Lamar and Samuels also.
