Mike Ford has not earned the starting job based on his play, and he certainly hasn't earned it based on his off the field behavior in the time he's been here.

I cannot understand the fascination.

When he earns the gig, then he earns it.  But until then, his actions are creating a massive opportunity for Mo Plancher... and their numbers aren't all that dissimilar.  You only get so many chances.

I believe its due to the fact he was one of the, if not the, highest rank recruit we ever gotten...

im sure you were excited when we all heard he was coming in too.

Absolutely.  Just as I'm excited about Giddens being here.

But... at a certain point, folks need to shut off the hype machine and look at reality.  Who gives us a better chance to win a game?  A hard working, blue-collar back like a Plancher or a Ben Williams, or a guy that can't stay on the field because he's listened to too much of his own hype and/or just doesn't have the discipline to be a D-1 athlete?

There was a reason why he couldn't qualify out of HS - Academics, discipline, whatever.  Like everyone, I hoped it'd correct itself, but apparently not...
