I wouldn't be able to put Louisville below Syracuse.  It's just not right.

why cause we are one of the few big east teams that they beat last year?

Louisville only beat one Big East team last season.

Syracuse should be ranked ahead of them becuase they have beaten the Cardinals the past 2 seasons.

2. Cincinnati: Putting my faith in Brian Kelly here. The Bearcats lose all but one starter on defense, but they still have a lot of firepower left on offense, including perhaps the league's best quarterback in Tony Pike. I'm guessing the two-time Big East coach of the year will have his defense up to speed by mid-October.

He will have to... especially since they don't have a Defensive coordinator now.

This will be better for us.  Let us prove ourselves again.  We have fallen short in a conference that does not get respect. Look at how the BE faired against other conferences and we are stronger than the analysts give credit for.  Unfortunately, the last two seasons they have looked at USF as being one of the top teams in BE, and we failed in that role, I think hurting the entire conference.

I do not mind starting unranked.  We will go to Tally and win, getting our ranking.  HOPEFULLY, we will have some BE teams in there ahead of us, then pick our way throught to the BEC, and a nice BCS game.

this should tell you all something:  we have a FOUR YEAR returning starter coming back at QB, which in college football is probably the biggest indicator to predict success, and we're still only perceived as the #4 team going into this season.  It says a lot about our coaching staff and their lack of ability in developing, a) talent, B) a cohesive unit that plays TOGETHER to win a conference title.  even if we recruit well, will the players develop a) individually, or B) as a cohesive unit to win more than 4 conference games?  history has proven that it hasnt been done.

There is no reason why we cant win the be next year. Our problem the last 2 years was depth on both oline and dline. That is no longer a problem. We have just as much if not more talent than any other team
