Does anyone on this board understand the true reasons why most schools have on campus stadiums?

They are all more than 50 years old, when building stadiums was cheaper and land was available?

While that's true, it's not the true reason.  Anyone else?

We need a stadium like Lane stadium.  Loud as hell and not too big.

Depends on how far back you go.  In medieval times, I believe public stonings were held in public stadiums.

Depends on how far back you go.  In medieval times, I believe public stonings were held in public stadiums.

That's public.  We're talking about why you would have a private (ocs) stadium?  Anyone else?

i wouldn't want the stadium on the mall property... i want a stadium that is in EASY walking distance from classrooms.

I want a stadium where recruits come to visit and it is towering above them,

I want a stadium where students make their visit... and they see a nice, large stadium to help in the decision process...

If we want a stadium on campus, will we have enough parking lot?  

Will the alochol be allowed if it builts on that property where mall is?

I guess it would depend on how the property is secured... I'd hope not... Less alcohol in the stadium is a good thing.

you could park all over campus.  go to uf or fsu.  you just pull up on the grass, pop up a tent, and crack open a beer
