Its completely random too, I was asked to do that with my phone before Pitt, but my dad wasnt, and then today I was not asked about my phone.

Not just students, they did it to both me and my fiance at the Bucs game last Sunday. After security looked at my phone, I was like, "I just gotta ask, why are y'all checking". His response was that people were hiding drugs and fireworks in the battery compartment ???  Fireworks?!? Thats what he said ???

I saw this at the game today too.  Completely random, no rhyme or reason.

Why the heck would you hide something in your cell phone when you could just put it in your pocket?  I mean, if it's tiny enough to fit in the battery compartment of a cell phone, how could it be noticed in your pocket even if they gave you a pat down?

Sounds like security people just making stuff up.

Edu.... I have no fricking clue. At the bucs game, it seemed like they were checking everybody, so I dont think it was just students per se. But like I said, his answer left me even more clueless. I just dunno

There must be some people who just give off a 'search me' vibe.

I keep meaning to leave my pocket knife in the truck, but never

seem to do it, and the cell phone in my pocket brings no unwarranted

scrutiny. All I do is take off my hat and show my ticket.

Now...about the drug thing...that's true, because there have been

a number of instances of this where the frau teaches, but I just don't

see this as something we necessarily want to delve into at football

games. Anything that can be secreted in a phone can easily be

treated the same way in your pocket.

Weird stuff... :-*

The answer that we've gotten entering in from the student gate is that there is apparently a gun that looks like a cell phone? I have no idea, just what I've heard.

That or that it could detonate something.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
