I don't think so, I remember going to the carnival Thursday night, along with the bonfire.  Also went to a bball game afterwards one year.

WHOEVER planned this years event should be fired and never allowed to plan another usf event.  Why would you have the carnival and fireworks on Sunday night, the weekend before the traditional homecoming weekend?  That was STUPID!!!!   PURE AND SIMPLE!!!

That should have taken place this Friday after the parade.  The carnival should also have been this Friday, and Saturday.  Most people think the events are closer to the weekend of the game, not the weekend before the game.  Fireworks this Friday would have been great, or even have them Sat after the game at RJS.

USF needs to get some people who can brainstorm a little bit better.  I appreciate that these people spent a lot of hours working on the event, but cmon, do some research and figure out the best time for everything.

We should also have some sort of concert after the football game.  I remember ucf did something like that a couple years ago, having lenny kravitz perform right after the game.  Great turnout, plus you had people who didnt usually go to the game who came out to watch and maybe jumped on board.  We could use some of the casual fan realizing how exciting our games are.

Hopefully this will improve.  I thought the HC of 1997 was cool.  They had a lot of events over by the stadium, plus the usual aa tent and food.

She should NOT be fired.  You obviously don't know how hard it is to plan such an event.  I know, I'm a director next year.  We're going crazy and stressing out just to try to please everyone and we don't even get good feedback!  If you haven't noticed, there is a different event every night so that way events won't overlap and  people will be able to attend all events.  Sunday was a good time, it started early so complaining about it being on a sunday is just dumb.  By the way, the fireworks and bonfire were Monday night at 9PM.  And after the Parade is the Parade After Party that leads to Midnight Mania...so having a Carnival then would have been stupid.  Besides, the games cannot be left there from Monday to Friday.

All I'm saying is that you guys should try to fill up one of our shoes before you start talking.

Well I appreciate everyone's efforts.

I recall that the carnival usually went like Wednesday thru Friday (up til about 1or2 am before game night)  That way it was there for everyone who went to "movies on the lawn" Wednesday, it was there Thursday when the bonfire and fireworks (as I recall), it was there Friday before during and after the parade, then usually dismantled.

While we're at it, what ever happened to the event of going to a parking lot (usually near the Alumni ctr) before the game to decorate our cars?  I also remember a bunch of us getting a police escort to the stadium?

It all deals with time slots.  We don't want events to overlap at all.  When we have 2 events at night it gets really crazy and people get overly stressed out, so that could probably be why its not the same anymore.  I think the Carnical went great!  We had WAY more people there on monday than we had last year.  We were there till 2 AM making sure everything was packed away.  So-- I think we're doing a good job so far...

And and and, I'm so excited!  Today is MY big day!  Woo!!  Who knew I could be this hyper when I haven't been sleeping much all week.

The Stampede went alright, a lot of people had a lot of fun, we had over 2K ppl there, don't know how much over though.  It was a good crowd, funny show.

Now--my event tonight was hot!  I had music, food, games, free stuff.  My friends said I had over 2500 ppl there.  God, I'm so spirited...and great.  I'm friggin' awesome, I'mma run this school one day!
