He explains it on his blog... and the reasons make some sense.

I read it, and no it doesn't.

A 1-loss team does not deserve to outrank us at this very early point in the season.

If we run the table later and Georgia is still a 1-loss team I wouldn't necessarily be inclined to disagree with him based on the merit of the more difficult schedule that Georgia has. But, right now, the schedule is almost a moot point when the disparity isn't that large. It's not like we've only played mid majors or something.

That is because you are forgetting that USC is like if God cried a single tear and that tear held the power of gods...  It was consumed by Pete Caroll.  USC invented football.  They deserve to always be number one because their coach is so fun and cool and so totally gnarly at recruiting!  Surfs up!  They illegally provide benefits to get those star players but the NCAA looks the other way.

USC is so deep at every position that you would be fool not to rank them number 1 or in the top 10 no matter how many unranked teams they lose to.
