This won't really matter too much with our offense. We run a no huddle offense and the plays are called at the line of scrimmage using a variety of signals given by the coaches on the sidelines. This should eliminate some of the crowd factor...but it will still be loud and scary for them, no doubt.

And another thing....the first poster claimed Reesing is a 3rd year starter....not the case. He won the starting job last season (his sophomore year) from Kerry Meier, who is currently starting at WR for us and is extremely sure-handed.

According to their message board on Scout, they have 9 freshman that may be starting.  They are concerned about how they may react in a hostile environment.  I say be loud...as loud as we can...it could help.

Our offensive line is young and a little shaky at this point. Our O-line vs. your D-line will be, by far, the biggest match up of the game. If Reesing gets time he is great at picking apart a secondary and our wide receivers are fantastic. As one poster already mentioned, getting pressure won't be enough. Reesing is great at keeping a play alive wit his feet so containment will be important as well.

How's your secondary? I believe we have the best receiving corp our school has ever seen. Dez Briscoe is tall, fast, and he flat out makes plays. Daymond Patterson is extremely fast (2 receiving TD's, 1 punt return TD), and Kerry Meier (former starting QB, trick plays anyone?  ;D ) runs great routes and probably has the best hands on the team.

Reesing averaged 2.1 yards per carry last season so I wouldn't worry to much about his running.  Its a short throw - high percentage passing attack so the D linemen need to get their arms up and knock down some passes.  He must be taken out of his comfort zone or it will be a long night.

Technically true, but he won us a game as a freshman when Meier was hurt (Colorado).

The key to slowing down the spread is simple. Don't give Reesing time. Have your DE and LB try to contain him in the middle, and blitz frequently. If Reesing gets outside, something good usually happens for KU. USF should be able to take advantage of our inexperience at tackle. That's clearly my biggest worry about the game on Friday.

Is the crowd noise going to make our players blind? As mentioned, the plays and audibles are called with a series of hand signals.

Reesing won't be as elusive against us because our front 7 is much much faster and athletic than your used to seeing.  If he runs around like he did in that OSU clip you put up expect some forced fumbles and big losses on sacks. Selvie's motor NEVER stops and the longer Reesing holds the ball the more likely hes going to spend some quality time with George.  There is a reason why we give WVU and Pat White fits and thats because he can't use his speed to get the corner or big scrambles,, or even be elusive in the pocket if we can run down Pat White we can definitely run down Reesing.

He means that we run a no-huddle, so there isn't much verbal communication before the snap. False starts are a rarity now with the coaches sending signals and few snap counts. Texas A&M has a notorious home crowd advantage, but they didn't faze KU last year. Not saying they won't get rattled in their first road game, but crowd noise isn't a huge issue for teams that run a no-huddle.
