I am pumped, we are starting to recruit ahead and that bodes well for our program.  I think we have momentum.  Focus on D-line and O-line players.

If we could land our #1 target QB, Eugene Smith, then everything else will fall into place:

Miramar's Eugene Smith, South Florida's top quarterback prospect, said he is considering five schools -- FSU, USF, LSU, Louisville and Michigan. UM, deep in young QBs, hasn't offered, and though the Gators offered, ``They've recruited other quarterbacks, and I don't want to be set back.''

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

South Florida, Louisville, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Colorado are just a quick sampling of schools currently offering a scholarship to Marianna running back Bradley Battles.

The best thing I see here is South Florida listed first. Maybe they just did it because he was leaning toward being a Bull, but when I first read it, I presumed that they were listing schools in order of prestige.

So, Ford tears it up this year and next, then Battles comes in. I like it.

Don't forget about Demetrius Murray

From TBO.com

Battles also said he won’t make any visits to other schools this fall and cancelled a trip to Gainesville on June 16 for a Florida one-day camp.

Always nice to see.

Sounds like another rb who will get a small amount of carries and contribute closer to his junior year here. I guess we still have to go for these guys but I'd like to see some earlier commits in some other positions lol.

Well, we DID HAVE one, WR Dwayne Difton a 4 star rivals recruit who decommitted. Maybe he will still sign with us.

Aside from QB, I don't think it really matters all that much who gives us a verbal at this point as long as they are HIGHLY ranked. HS players want to be part of a great recruiting class, and landing high caliber recruits early leads to more of them jumping on our bandwagon.

Mama ... I think that Eugene Smith story means he's the top QB prospect IN South Florida, not of USF ...

I wasn't using that story to write that.

It's my understanding that he is our #1 target, not only at QB but of ANY player.

Do you know something different?

Based on this review... what doesn't he do??  Seems a little over the top to me.

Can he leap tall buildings in a single bound?

since the kid committed so early, what is the chance he actually makes it to USF?  Are there any stats of kids keepiing their early commitments?  Seemed like a lot of kids flipped last year at the last minute..

I just don't trust these early commitments.  Maybe I am too pessimistic...

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
