If you can afford it I would suggest getting a home theater system also. Makes all the difference with the sound.

You certainly need a surround sound system with this one (and in my opinion any HDTV). Having a good HDTV without a system is like drinking a fine wine at Mickey D's. I highly reccommend getting the 1080p as opposed to the 720p. Blue Ray can only be displayed on a 1080p and blue ray is the shiznit.

You don't need to have an HD tv... although I highly recommend it. I recently bought a 47" philips lcd and it is very nice! (if I am wrong on the switch, please provide a link so I can update myself on the facts ) Also, home theater = VERRY NICE!

It's on walmart.com if you want to see it... the reviews are all that that great for it though.
Don Toro Posted March 19, 2008 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 1,981 Reputation: 1 Days Won: 0 Joined: 12/02/2002 Share Posted March 19, 2008 Most HDTV owners wish they would have bought a bigger HDTV. Make sure 42" is exactly what you want, there are plenty of affordable 46-50" out there, and they don't look too big on a bedroom. As for cables, and mounts I get all of them from monoprice.com. You can get an HDMI cable for about $6 compared to the overpriced cables they try to sell you at Circuit City and Best Buy. Those cables either work, or they don't, there is no advantage on buying a $40 HDMI cable according to many studies. The mounts are cheap too, and should cost you no more than $35.
