ALL:

I hope this isn’t interpreted as “spam-like.†Despite my low post count here on The Bulls Pen, I have been a lurker for quite some time and an ardent Bulls Fan for even longer.  You have seen me behind home plate at baseball games, in El Paso and Boca Raton to support the football team, in the student section at basketball games.

Because of my passion for USF athletics, I have chosen to post here concerning the upcoming student government (SG) elections.  I genuinely feel that this is pertinent information. And I feel that The Bulls Pen should be closely associated with my SG aspirations.

USF’s Student Body will have the ability to vote for its senate and presidential representatives this upcoming Tuesday and Wednesday (February 26th and 27th).  The voting will be conducted online.

I am making a passionate plea for you to take the few moments needed to vote when the polls open up.

This is particularly important to me because I am running for SG senate along with my good friend Charlie Terenzio (“Da Bulls†here).  If you access our websites available below, you will see that many of the initiatives on our platforms are athletics-related.  Because of the high regard in which we hold athletics, we are turning to you, The Bulls Pen faithful, to turn out for us.  We want to be the medium (in Student Senate) through which those passionate about USF athletics (YOU) get their voices heard.

Consider this: Perhaps, in the coming year, student government is going to have a voice in the method in which hot tickets to sold-out games (think: football games) are distributed.  This was a big argument during the last season and is sure to rage during next year’s exciting football season as well.  Please consider voting for Charlie and I because we will turn to YOU to guide US in lobbying for a system that best benefits those most fervent about USF athletics.  This is just one example of how important your vote can be…

USF SG Official Voting Site (Elections Open on Tuesday and Wednesday): http://www.sg.usf.edu/?q=vote

Whether you decide to vote for us or not (or if outside of the College of Arts and Sciences and unable to vote for us), please read about the other senatorial candidates, the Presidential tickets and VOTE FOR SOMEONE!  It’s your money being spent and your voices being represented: MAKE THEM COUNT!

Thank you very much

Welcome to The Bullspen, Meg!!

In addition, I am running for re-election to SG senate, where I have been a proud senator of the USF College of Education. I am a firm believer in an athletic program's ability to support a university's drive to the top. I believe that we are one of the most under-rated Universities in the nation, and through athletics and improved student life, we can improve our national image, and become as prestigious of a university as UF or FSU.

I've been upset with some of the presidental candiates- I know you guys dont have control of that. We had a candiate tell our sports club we were going to be fully funded- no need to fundraise for travel etc. Well I know that bs, I am familiar with both the SCC and ASRC. But our club now thinks we are going to get 90K next season because this canidate PROMISED them this. I have talked until I was blue just trying to show them the facts through our SCC budget, the fact that we are getting our allotment now- not when that canidate takes over and he NO control over giving Sports Clubs all the money like he has said.

Very frustrating for running a highly functioning sports club...

That's the bad thing about elections. Some candidates promise things that they know can't happen.

As a member of the ASRC, I apologize that one of the candidate made those statements, when he or she has absolutely no control over that sort of thing. We try to give a fair allotment every year, but promises of funding are not ethical in practice....
