What were we supposed to learn from that list?

That Pittsburg can suck no matter how many "stars" they bring in?  :o

And that Notre Dame is ranked in the top five every year and still is not very good on the field.  Thank you Mr. Mazza for proving my point.

You can not compare this years recruits with last years team record.  You have to see what this classes record is in 3 & 4 years from now.  In the case of Miami everyone knows their classes were dropping since 2002, this is the first class since that is in the top 10.

There is one thing I do agree on and that is good coaching will make up for a lack of stars.  On the other hand good coaching with lots of stars will be in the BCS games and National Championship games.

Miami's recruits may have dropped off the past few years, but they were always top-30, and had way more talent than most of the teams they lost to the last two years.

So, chicken or egg?

Are the players that FSU and Nebraska are bringing in really that good, or, are they ranked really high because FSU and Nebraska is recruiting them?

Stars are stupid, it's a popularity contest. Consensus All-American George Selvie was 2 stars, thats all I need to know.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
