If you wiki Cloverfield monster, or jsut cloverfield and find the link there are a couple of good qoutes from director matt reeves. Accodring to him the monster is more like a baby, who has been asleep for thousands of years. And he is scared, confused by his new enviroment, but loves those tasy treers (humans).

Now the question is where is mommy..........

I watched the movie the day after it came out.  I wanted to avoid the whole "Sixth Sense" thing where I knew what happened ("HE WAS DEAD IN THE END!!") before I watched the movie.

My thoughts:

I thought it ended the right way. I think they "nuked" Manhattan, they said that if Rob and Beth didn't make the last chopper that "sacrificing" the city was the possibility.

I thought the monster was stupid looking.  And it annoyed me that they didn't tell me what it was, where it came from...NOTHING!  It was a little frustrating.

I heard that IF there is a sequel, like someone mentioned, it would be from the perspective of someone else recording.

Rob had some good friends...I would NOT have followed him everywhere!!  HELL NO!!

I also heard that the scrambled sound at the end says..."It's still alive..."

I thought the movie was decent.  Most people I talked to about it thought it was a piece of crap.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
