Maybe if your football team catches up to your basketball team.

The Dumars vs Jordan story line will be pretty cool next year.

From ESPN.com...Jordan:

On the same day it was announced his father had been voted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, Jordan, a 6-foot-3 guard, announced he had chosen UCF over schools including Toledo, Iowa and Davidson.

Michael might have a lady at the Magic Kingdom.

I seem to recall he's down with Warner Brothers, not Disney.

:)  Time will tell how this class works out.. but on paper it is by far the best ever at UCF.. add that to a very large and pretty talented class..last year.. we have a lot of kids that will have quite a while to play together.. could be a very special team in a couple of years.

Its been kind of glad and sad over the last 24 hours...as UCF Basketball has received more national pub over the last day vs what UCF had the entire year even though the nation's 3rd leading scorer (Jermaine Taylor) played for UCF.

Jermaine is probably one of the 3 greatest male athletes ever to suit up for UCF in any sport (Culpepper and Kevin Smith the other two), yet because he played BASKETBALL and lit it UP this year...Sentinel and the local tv stations gave him very little pub till way late in the year.

Even though Keith Clanton will still be the STAR of UCF's recruiting class this year...plus UCF added its first Top 150 player in Nik Garcia yesterday as well (from Chicago too) to the mix...as they say...any pub is good pub.

No clue how any of these recruits will do over their careers at UCF...but hopefully UCF can use this momentum to help "wake up" students/alumni/boosters and basketball fans in Orlando that never gave UCF Hoops a chance.

FYI...here a few articles from the Chicago Tribune about Marcus Jordan:

On biggest stage, Jordan comes out a winner

NOTE: Here's the first article from any source that has quotes from Marcus about committing to UCF:

I've seen a few articles suggesting that Marcus might use UCF as a stepping stone to transfer to a higher-profile school. Like if he plays well, he'll be out of there. What do you all think is the real risk of that happening?

Chad, shut the f**k up, we're having a legitimate discussion for a change.

Come on, if Marcus was any good at all, he would have gone elsewhere.  Let's not fool ourselves or allow the tinmen to fool themselves any further.

Well, according to Jamie, he may be looking to transfer to USF soon after arrival. :ROFLMAO  Honestly, he saw the facilities and academics and was sold, imho.

Whatever the reason, it's a good pick-up for UCF.  It will bring people in to watch and if they are winning, they may hang around for more.  Some people will come for (the real) MJ sighting....you've gotta figure he can afford to fly in for a game or two.  And finally....shoving a couple million to your son's school is pretty cool if you've got it.  It's a great deal for UCF...I'd take him in a heart beat even if I thought he was just "pretty good" for a college athlete.

Good post.  He was the MVP of his state championship team.  His coach says he may turn out to be one of the best.  He simply fell in love with our academics and facilities is what I am hearing.
