it was film study with Coach Rich Rod-- about the spread offense and why the QB ends up runnign the ball more often.

The QB has to read the end--- and based on what the end does, he either hands the ball off to the tailback or keeps it and goess around the end.

THis is why Grothe or any QB in our system will have so many carries. It is by design

during the film study-- NO highlghts shown versus USF

we run it ourselves and certainly know how to properly defend it

If they haven't learned it now they never will.  The Louisville game was a perfect example.  Ford's carries had the UL D respecting the HB big time.  The DE would commit to he run big time and leave Grothe open to run.

I wonder why.

I guess they must be waiting for the film session on how to stop the spread, which we'd have 2 straight years worth of film on.

I am one of the Grothe shouldn't run so much folks, but if others are using the same logic as me, we get the spread run. The QB draws up the middle are the problem.

Generally on the read-option, the QB will run to the outside where only 1-2 defenders are waiting. The runs up the middle are a little scary.

And, at the same time, I would never say that Grothe shouldn't run, that's what makes him who he is. I would like to see some more roll-out passes and such to use his abilities to throw on the run a little better.

OK, 40 minutes until game time, need to order gameplan for this one. $22 for one game...argh, actually, cheaper than driving to a home game with gas prices.

it would double as a session on how to knock Pat White out of a game
