Forget about BE getting two teams in BCS, our best bet is for WV to beat both UConn and Cincy.

Since both UConn and Cincy also play Syracuse chances are that they would win.

USF NEEDS to WIN against UL and Pitt.

That would leave

WV 11-1 (6-1) BCS Bowl

UConn 9-3 (5-2)

Cincy 9-3 (4-3)

USF 9-3 (4-3)

The Sun Bowl chooses 2nd and they have enough local support that they can choose the highet ranked team, so USF has a shot at it.

But we could end up in Meineke or papajohns.

I say if it ends like that and we are the highest ranked team of the three we end up in Sun or Meineke.

UConn is going to finish 9-3 at best, under this scenario, with 3 teams at 9-3, we would probably be ranked higher than Uconn, so we might get Meineke or Sun...we must win against UL and Pitt...

Who is UCONN's third BE loss going to come to?? Syarcuse, I dont think so..............they only have WVU & Cuse left.

Which means USF would finish 3rd in the BE

They already lost to Virginia, losing big to Cinn, will lose big to WVU.  That's 3 losses.  We will also finish with 3 losses if we beat ul and pitt.  We would be ranked higher under that scenario, thus more attractive to bowls in that regard.

Thats 3 loses but only 2 conference loses & we have 3 conference loses  which means they would finish ahead of us in the BE standings.

just win our games and win the bowl game.  i dont care where it is.  there is still way too much football ahead of us right now.

however, with our attedence this year and our media hype earlier in the year, we would get selected over a Uconn or Cincy team anyways....its pretty clear that WVU is winning the big east at this point

Doesn't matter.  Conf standings have little to nothing to do with it.  The bowls do NOT have to pick in order of finish.  IE: the #2 bowl does not have to take the 2nd BE team, they just get to pick second.  They would likely take the 2nd highest ranked team, and also consider attendance, and other factors.

WV winning out would be best deal for Bulls. They have the largest fan base and would be chosen over any of the others for a Bowl game.

finishing third or 4th or wherever doesn't mean a whole lot.  it's the bowl's choice in order of who they choose.  They don't have to pick in order of where teams finish.

My guess is that we have to look pretty good to the bowl's committees right now.  We have the top CB in the country, the nation's leader in sacks and TFL, a QB with good name recognition now in Grothe.  We have had very good attendance for the year.  We have drawn well on our nationally televised games including the highest viewed friday night game ever and the year's highest rated Thursday night game and we are a former #2 team which drew a lot of national media recognition.  All of this is they type of stuff that the bowl committees look at when choosing their teams.

Winning out would be huge, but I think we are a pretty appealing choice for the various bowls.
