They are leading the wild card race and this is relevant as you cant win the world series without making the playoffs. The A's won last night and sox were postponed so now the wild card race is all tied up with the same exact record.

So.... it's relevant that the Red Sox are leading the wildcard race, even though they're not anymore?

No, Velcro... if you're tied with another team, the condition clearly stated in KnightsRule's post, you are no longer leading.

I scarcely need to resort to such tactics.

sox are probably gonna lose tonight anyway.

But i'm not worried... if the red sox miss the playoffs... feel free to talk all the chit you want... but i don't see that happening.

KR, Oaklands pitchers are pitching well this year. You speak as if they are struggling. Hudson leads the AL in ERA and Mulder is 14-3. And as you BoSox fans continue to point out, what does the past mean. All I know, you can argue all you want, but the A's have the best 3 man rotation in baseball, and when playoffs come around, pitching is all that matters.

A's and Anaheim scare me, Anaheim more... we've had trouble with them... season split... but we've played very well against Oakland.

They have had the same three headed monster for a long time and had all three pitching great going into playoffs and have not won a series. They have had much more offensive talent in the past and have not won so I say history repeats itself.

I clearly state they are tied for the lead and it is relevant as you cant make win the WS if you are not in the playoffs.  Excuse me for saying we are leading the WC as we were tied for the lead with 62 friggin games to go.  If the season had ended the sox would have been in a playoff with oakland for wc spot.  I repeat you cant win the WS without making the playoffs. Oakland is now one game ahead of the sox, maybe the sox should call it a season.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
