Airport is a good 20 minutes or so from the main city. The car rental was cheaper than cab fare or a shuttle, trust me, I looked into it.

I just re-read my post and realized that it sounds misleading. Of course I bought my tickets through USF, I would never buy them any other way. I used the PITT site to check and see where they stick the visitors.

cheapest way to downtown is public transportation, the Airport Express,  not too many stops until downtown.  It is clean and safe
