Ok IF these where the FIVE final choices for USF basketball. how would you rank them in order of  best to worse.

Coach Grant- VCU

Coach Marshall-Winthrop

Coach Pelphrey- South Alabama

Coach Hobbs- George Washington

Coach Lowery- Southern illinois

Not sure if it's fair though... it's basically based on how far they have gone in the tourney (except for Pelphrey)

I'm with you Herman. I have the same order on my wish list. I would be ecstatic with any of the top three. However, being the pessimist I am, I am not expecting us to name Grant or Lowery or Marshall our next head basketbull coach.

I agree with Cubans picks, however, there are some i'd probably pick ahead of a couple in that group of 5.

Gottfried / Amaker, etc, but they aren't in your list, so I'll play by the rules

Velcro,  Why would you take Amaker ?  I think he has had a pretty bad run at Michigan and if he couldn't do it there I don't know that he could do anything here.

He did well at a Big East school already.  He has proven he can win in this league.  He might not have had a great run at Michigan, but he has the name recognition and is a decent recruiter.  

Just because someone had a bad run at a school doesn't mean they can't do well... (see Greenberg for an example).  It just didnt' work well for him at Michigan.

Pelphrey #1.

I think he is a upcoming star. This guy will be a big time coach. USF can get him cheap. He is a big X's and O's guy. Has been to the final 4 (as an asst). Former player at a big time program. Showed loyality at UK when he stayed after the NCAA violations were handed down.
