Oklahoma State

After leaving Kentucky, Pelphrey spent a short time playing basketball overseas before joining his former coach Eddie Sutton's staff at Oklahoma State for the 1993-94 season.[1]

Marshall

Pelphrey joined Billy Donovan's staff at Marshall for two years and was intrumental in the resurgence of the Thundering Herd program.

Florida sucks

In 1996, he followed Donovan from Marshall to Florida and coached as an an assistant for 6 years. He helped the Gators garnish a school record four straight NCAA Tournament appearances from 1999 to 2002. During the 1999-2000 season, the Gators made their first-ever appearance in the national championship game against Michigan State.[1]

South Alabama

Pelphrey is now head coach at the University of South Alabama. In his first season there in 2002-03, Pelphrey led the Jaguars from a 8-20 record the year before to a 14-14 record. Now in his fourth season, Pelphrey has accumulated a 60-54 record at USA. In 2005-06 the Jaguars defeated Western Kentucky University in the Sun Belt Conference tournament championship game, earning USA's first NCAA tournament bid since 1998.

2002-03: 14-14

2003-04: 12-16

2004-05: 10-18

2005-06: 24-7

2006-07: 21-11

His victories are from creme puffs ---he's a pretender.

Thank you. Come again...

Ill have to agree his team ended on a FIVE game slide losing to:

FIU, FAU,Troy, Middle Tenn and Syracuse.

His biggest win was by five vs Houston

Uhhhh...South Alabama isnt exactly cream of the crop in terms of stature so two 20 win seasons, an NCAA and an NIT is impressive .  Yeah they ended the season poorly but I watched that game against Syracuse tonight and liked what I saw a lot in terms of style of play, and the way he handled the bench.  Dont be so quick to write him off.

Come one guys. We're NOT getting a Lavin or Majerus. We're not locking down Anthony Grant and more than likely not Chris Lowery.

Pelphrey got South Alabama to the dance! Ya, he hasn't beaten anyone great but back to back 20 win seasons at a school like that is not done by a bad coach.

He's gotta be a guy you consider. We all want the "home run" coach, unfortunately I don't see it happening.

I actually would not mind this guy. His team played real tough tonight and went toe to toe vs a good Big East basketball team. It prob isint real easy to recruit in the Sun Belt and draw players to Bum **** Alabama. The guy took the South Alabama job as a steping stone. He has been an asst for some very good teams. This may be the perfect fit for USF.
