Nice guy. Always liked him as a college coach.

He wouldn't have to move and he doesn't need the money after the Warriors bought out his contract. USFFan

I thought I read somewhere (maybe this board) that Woolard had some sort of connection with him.

And when he was AD at Saint Louis, he tried to get Bruce Weber when he was at SIU.
Guest BasketBull.
He just became my number one...Anyone that can beat up Seth's team, which beat Duke, with a mid-major program and also get them ranked in the top 15 has my vote.

He said that Lowery is likely to go to Minnesota. They have him targeted as their top candidate. I wouldn't hold out too much hope for Lowery.Normal
SeaBull Posted March 14, 2007 Group: Member Topic Count: 35 Content Count: 928 Reputation: 2 Days Won: 0 Joined: 11/25/2006 Share Posted March 14, 2007 I'm friends with a guy who recently graduated from SIU. Their basketball program is doing all the right things and so is their coach. The teams RPI is at #7 right now and we all know who is responsible for that. There is a good chance they could make it into the Elite 8 at least, so to have Lowery at USF will not only rejuvinate this program, it would turn it into a Big East power. Only 2 big east football schools made it into the tourny this year and if Lowery comes aboard, there is a good chance we could be Big East Champs in Football and Basketball in the same year 5 years from now.Lowery in '07!
