smazza doesnt understand why we  have 1-aa schools on our schedule.

and it is useless to try and point out how much sense in makes for us to do that.

Job security!

yep, helps you get to bowl games.  right now we are playing for bowl games each year.  maybe when we get to the point where we need to worry about our BCS strength of schedule rating to get into the title game then we will drop the 1-aa schools.  but when our main focus is to win the big east and get into a bowl game then having a 1-aa school on the schedule helps get our guys in game shape and gets 1 win closer to the 6 needed for bowl eligibilty

Nearly everyone has a AA on their schedule, USF isn't doing anything out of the ordinary.

Nearly everyone has a AA on their schedule, USF isn't doing anything out of the ordinary.

That's Smazza's problem -- USF should be doing things outside of the ordinary.

He doesn't care if USF plays 12 road games... he never comes to Ray Jay so it doesn't matter to him.

A pay-day game at Texas or Oklahoma is better in his eyes than a home game against a I-AA team.

Unfortunately, he just doesn't get it... or seem to want to get it.

For those of us in Tampa a I-AA home game is better than a single pay-day game at Ohio State.

I would prefer if we didn't play any 1-AA games, but, I also see the rationale for it.  One reason, it gives us an additional home game and two, it gives us a chance to get the team working together against an opponent instead of each other in pre-season practices.

Insofar as the Hurricanes are concerned......we worry about them when we play them.  Why put the cart before the horse????????????

One difference.  UCF is playing 2-1 with Miami.  We had 2 1-1 deals.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
