Out of the 10K tickets that the school received, they had to pay for seats for the band and band staff members which was prob in the 250 person range....

"Update: Based on some E-mails I received questioning the ticket numbers, I double-checked with Rick Costello, USF’s associate AD/CEO. He said the bowl budget numbers are a preliminary figure. The $236,500 amount for bowl tickets was an estimate, Costello said, based on USF selling about 2,200 tickets. [highlight]Costello said USF actually sold 3,200 tickets. Hauling Bull nice work. Not a bad payday. If we can get 2 Big East teams in the BCS games we would make an absolute killing.  

Not really the 2nd team only gets 4.5M the money would go up a little bit more.

Which would explain why the articles talked about USF costing the BE $4.5M when we beat West Virginia.  Oh well, success has it price.
