i can callit like it is.

wrong... you call it like you see it.

There is a big difference there... as we've proven over and over again that you are wrong more often than you are right.

your jealousy is talking

you knew little as anyone until i educated YOU

Velcro,

always thought you where a smart guy but there was just something not quite right with you.  It has all become clear now - smazza educated you !

these 5 programs are currently ranked higher than us in the recruiting rankings:

http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=359&p=9&c=14&view=1&yr=2007

i think we need to start picking up the slack if we plan on winning the Big East in the next 5 yrs or so..

leavitt has never done a good job recruiting

a classic underachiever

any coach at usf 10 years should fall out of bed and have the best recruiting class in big east

another stupid post.  how does USF continually improve with bad recruiting?  he recruited stephen nicholas, matt grothe, the entire great team we have coming back here.  you want a high star guy count mike ford, carlton hill, andre hall, spires, etc.

and i know people keep mentioning these things over and over, but hopefully people finally get this:  stars don't mean much.  nicholas was a 2-star and grothe was a 3 star.  1 is already going pro and the other was one of the best freshman QBs in the country last season.  i don't have time to list all of the examples.  i believe selvie was a 2-star.  was chris robinson?  yes.  one of the best freshmen DEs in the big east.  mike jenkins was a 3-star and he's going pro.

get over the star rankings.

we finished 4th in conference last year

big deal

usf should be competing for big east title by now

next year usf will finish 3-5 and not compete for title

losing to cinncy and kansas with a 60 SOS is nothing to be proud about when you hail from tampa,an area surrounded by the best talent in the usa

FAU and FIU should be ashamed of themselves- according to Smazzas train of thought FAU and FIU should be ranked top 25 and competing for best recruits since they are so close to Miami and have the best recruits in their own back yard.  ;D ;D

Im curious how long did it take USC(So Cal) to win and become a consistent top 25 team once they started football?

wrong usf has been  in big east for several years

those two rinky dink schools shouldnt even be in d1a

Pitt constantly has a top recruiting class...it hasn't translated on the field yet.  Some coaches are great recruiters but mediocre coaches (i.e. Zook @UI).  We'll be fine.

good point and usf will be fine if you mean middle of the pack dont compete for big east title fine

Last time I checked, our recruiting classes were improving year after year.   You don't build empire overnight.  What's really going to help the cause is to start consistently putting Bulls in the NFL.

10 years isnt overnight

no empire will be built at usf if we cant out recruit competition

we are in middle of the best talent in the sport

usf should be dominating the recruiting  with leavitt being here 10 years

Why should USF be dominating the recruiting???  Because you think so???  The big three have been among the tops in the nation now for 20+ years and have all the tradition.  And the way they got there was by taking the recuits that they could get and winning games.  Over time those wins translated into traditions and then the big recruits started coming in.  Sorry that LA has dissipated your patients...

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

all the talent to win is with 500 miles of usf and has been for all 10 years leavitt has been here

we are in the big east

LOL, i'm still trying to figure out which teacher it was in elementary school that was Smazza.  Perhaps it was my kindergarten teacher.  She was a bit strange ?  She probably knows about the same amout about college football as our resident "expert", and I use that term VERY loosely.

Sorry dude, it's not just because you're a lawyer, but I'm going to have to call this one of the most grossly incorrect statement's I've seen on this board.... Jim Leavitt is the reason we've got a football program and players to fill it. He's the reason we have a successful program; he's the reason donors have helped make the new Athletic facility possible, he's the reason that people across the nation are taking notice to our university, and he's the reason school spirit is at an all-time high. If you want an example of a school whose coach was not Jim Leavitt, take a look at former FIU coach Don S. Or perhaps FAU's coach, whomever it is. Finally, you might look at the coaching staff UCF had for the first couple of decades. All those schools benefit from the same Florida recruiting base, the same state support, and the same potential for their program.

The reason USF has overacheived these past ten years is Jim Leavitt, make no mistake. He's the reason we're able to utter the phrases "BCS," "Big East," and "Top 25." We're **** lucky to have him, and his name should never be associated with such indefensible criticism.

leavitt has won nothing at usf

and has a middle of pack team when we should be leading the pack

usf would be in big east without leavitt

leavitt needs usf  it is not the other way around as you suggest

the right coach can make usf an instant big east contender
