I got it, thanks, but I was saying that another JUCO guy for 2 years was a better option than giving Capko a one year schollie.

And I guess when the universe of serviceable JUCOs was sifted through, it was determined that it would be in the better interest of the program to try to land a four year prospect instead.  Second-guessing is easy.  There would be a number of people against another JUCO too.

Capko deserved the schollie.  Criticizing CRM for giving Chris a schollie is wrong.  Chris could of quit after breaking his nose last season and where would that of left USF.  Prolly winless in BE play.

i doubt capko was the reason we beat georgetown.

Yea but could USF of won without a PG.  Nope!

Points well taken, after all, these are just opinons here.  This board doesn't exist without second guessing.......

It's not bad luck, but rather lack of proper roster management.

Injuries happen to everyone. Unfortunately, they seem to  strike our Bulls more often than others. With that said, why didn't CRM use all his available scholarships to secure a full roster for the first time in his tenure?

CRM knew that he couldn't count on Cann and Howard b/c of lingering injuries, thus he should have done a beter job in recruiting. I realize that he probably didn't want to "waste" a scholarship on just a body, but there were a lot of serviceable JUCO players that he could have signed to serve as an insurance policy.  Instead he decided to sit on two scholarships, depth be damned!

It's the same excuse every year for the last 4...and from the looks of things we are probably won't use all of our scholarships this year since interest in USF hoops is at an all-time low.

BTW....please don't dump into that darkside crap. This is a legitimate question that anyone who cares about USF basketball should be asking: why are we ALWAYS shorthanded?

bingo

and the answer.... i know this is going to be shocking...

INJURIES.  The only case of us knowingly taking an injured player into the program is Cann... all other injuries were freak events after they were already part of our program, including Mosley (RIP).

I know our training staff is top notch, so it isn't poor conditioning, but just horrible luck.
