I called AAA today and asked for a Trip Pik for the trip to Birmingham. I pick it up on Wednesday.  Hopefully it will have the best way for us to go with construction, traffic and other problems. Stay tuned.

applepj,

Rizzo and I will be in one car.  We'll probably head out with you guys then split up somewhere along the way.  It all depends the pit-stops.

Applepj, AAA will show you the Atlanta rte.  From everything I've read on here that's not the best way to go.

From Outfitters your probably 50-50 on how you get to I-10, but It sounds like you would be better off going the 231 rte. after that.

It also sounds like maybe only an hour or two difference.

Hey, just drive safe and have a great time. we'll see you in Bham!

GO BULLS!

You guys should go on I-10 when you reach it.

A 28ft. RV will be going that way. (with 8 to 9 Bulls inside!)

ApplePJ, Joe Davis just left today with the Ryder truck holding the football equipment.  Since he is a trucker and knows his roads he told us the best way to go was up 75 to I 10 and once in Tallahassee take 27 north to 84 which is Bainbridge, Georgia and head west to Dothan where you pick up 231 and take 231 to I65 on in to Birmingham.  I went to AAA also today and picked up a Florida. Georgia, Alabama map as well as a Birmingham City Map. He said most of 84 is 65 mph and divided highway. ;)

I-10 meets US 27 on the north side of Tallahassee ... it's called "Monroe Street" and I think it's like Exit 199...

I'm not sure that 27 to Bainbridge is any better than 231 to Dothan... so the difference isn't really all that much... many ways to skin this cat.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
