Don't forget Troy Smith is about 6 foot, and he's a probable first rounder.  Also, look at Drew Brees tearing it up in the NFL and he's under 6'1"

I dont want to hear the height thing agian!! Matt is the same as vick, grossman, garcia....so I heard that when he came here and all the he's not tall enough to play d-1 and it really gets old. I think he is playing now in D-1 ball and has his size been any problem??? >:( >:(

"bartender , another double scotch here for Mr. Flutie here while he  settles his nerves...  "

Doug Flutie was 5'7", maybe 5'8", there is no comparison.

Drew Brees wasn't a first rounder, was he?  Technically, those are the only ones who leave early for the NFL.  And the ones that do that aren't selected in the first aren't as educated in the process as they should be.  Matt should know exactly where and when if he decides his senior year.

Drew was the first selection of the second round by the Chargers.  But unlike USF's system, Purdue wasn't afraid to sling the ball around 45 times a game.  So the comparison isn't totally accurate.

I wouldn't be suprised if we fling the ball more in 2007-2009.

Matthew will stay so he can eclipse the 10,000 yard barrier  8-)

Matthew's total yards are better than Vick's as a FR. And Donovan McNabb for that matter. AND had more TD's ... and still 1 game remaining.

And I like the Back-to-Back Nat'l Titles and Heisman talk  8-)

I think Matt will be a GREAT college QB if he continues to develop but i dont think his skill is what most NFL scouts like, even thought they are wrong about alot of great QB's (Brady, Montana, Brees,) who dont have the physical stats and are way wrong on others who do (Akili Smith, Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch).   Unfortunately when it comes to the draft most teams draft players who have "Prototypical NFL" size, arm strength, decision making, etc and not what people do on the field.  Matt will be here all 4 years and it will be a great 4 years where he will take us places we have never been.

Talk is cheap!  How about winning a Big East title next year.

Dang,  I thought Matt was like 7 feet tall the way he plays - sees the whole field and plays like a giant.

I am still amazed that Zach Thomas is still trying to make a point of being a NFL LineBacker at 5' 11" ... just because Sam Mills was a star at 5' 10" doesn't mean he can also.

;)

A 6' QB is not that much different than a 6' 2" QB ... it's about passing lanes. I've seen plenty of 6' 4" QB's get batted balls ...  :o They need a different term for this  :'(
