I think he has had plenty of success independent of his father but still being a Holtz sure hasn't hurt recruiting. I think it has opened a lot of doors. We had the #1 class last year in CUSA and are #2 currently this year. BTW Normal Bull. Skip Holtz would already be in the Big East had he stayed a UConn instead of leaving after the 1998 season even though he knew the plans were in place and had a large part in building that program. You would think that guy would love to play in front of more then 24k actual fans in a stadium with a pirate ship and red seats, or that he would have got tired of his office in a double wide for 7 years and could have found a better job. While you are at it other suggested reading why don't you read the resume of the DC who we hired away from being a successful DC in the Big 10 school or our AD. He didn't have the credentials to go to a bigger school. The reasons he wont leave are he's from St. Pete. He was raised in the area. Also it's clear to see he hasn't reached a plateau at USF yet. It's still going up from here. (I mean hell we are still using C-USA recruits ;D)

Many are pre BCS and Facility recruits. The recent changes have really helped our talent which also shows why this team is so young. Many of the "new" recruits are in the 2 Deep. Perfect example is DT Aaron Harris, a TRUE FR starting ahead of JR's
