Are we the youngest BCS School in the Country?

I cant think of any schools that are under 50 years old.

FSU as a school in it's current form (not a woman's college with limited classes) will be 50 next year.

But other than that, no.

We are the youngest by a few decades. The closest are Texas Tech and Miami in the 1920's.

It's a tough comparision though, because most other states (outside of California) have not created new large state institutions as the state of Florida did in the 50s-60s with USF, FAU, UCF, and FIU

We are the youngest football program in the BCS by far which is all that matters.

I think what he means by youngest is that the university as a whole is the youngest.

UConn has had football for a long long time-- but they only recently moved to 1-A. The same year we did. That is the only possible school that comes close in that category.

yes but UConn the school has been around for a while

UConn has had football for a long long time-- but they only recently moved to 1-A. The same year we did. That is the only possible school that comes close in that category.

It's all good though.

Not to be too hypertechnical, but U Conn moved to I-A in 2000 and USF moved up in 2001.
