If Jacksonville can turn around a field in less than 48 hours between the Gator Bowl and a Jaguar game, I sure hope Tampa can turn around a field in a week and then again in to weeks.

Last year they turned around RayJay in less than 24 hours for the Bucs - Outback Bowl.  It just takes dinero and knowing where you are at on the Glazer totem pole in game importance/revenue production.

It's not about the turnaround.  I am sure the Outback Bowl budgets for the paint cost.  It is about the money and the control the Glasers have over the stadium operations.  I for one am with you Matt.  It would be nice to see it painted for USF with it being on national TV against a ranked opponent with the Bucs having a bye week.

That's all I'm saying.  I don't expect it every week, nor do I ***** about it not being painted.  But when the prime scenarios for painting it arise, you should do it.

actually-- the process isn't simply painting the grass that is present.

they physically remove the grass in each endzone and put in new grass. THe process costs around 5 grand.

That is based on how I remember it being described prior to our first painted end zone appearance (think that was the TCU game).

Now the turnaround itself is not a problem-- they can get it done. But we have to pay for it to happen.

The midfield stuff is painted over the top of the Bucs flag-- that won't change. Big East logos always get painted on the sideline portions (and covered over for Bucs game days).

I think it would be nice to see this done for this two week stretch. We would come across as much more "college atmosphere"

I would be suprised if it wasn't painted.

I would LOVE to see the field painted, but I'm betting it doesn't happen.  I hate being a pessimist!

Well, we can hope. If it's not, I'm not going to let that detract from the joy I'll experience watching USF kick the crap out of Rutgirls.

Actually they did a different paint job for the Bucs Game and Outback Bowl.  It said Tampa Bay in both endzones in the Bucs Font and Color. The only part they did paint was midfield.

I would be suprised if it was not painted.
