USF linebackers unit rated 7th in the Country.  Not to shabby,huh?

7. South Florida

The 1-2 punch of Stephen Nicholas and Ben Moffitt is one of the best in the nation and should combine for close to 200 tackles and over 30 tackles for loss. Pat St. Louis is the unsung third member of the group, but he finished second on the team in tackles. The reserves haven't gotten a lot work since the front three have been so good, and there's a huge drop-off from the first to the second team

5. South Florida

The nation's sixth best pass defense should be even better with the league's best corner tandem in Mike Jenkins and Trae Williams and helped by the return of Danny Verpaele after missing last year with a broken foot. How strong is the USF secondary? The team's fourth leading tackler last season, Carlton Williams, is a backup. There's excellent speed and athleticism among the reserves with several good options to form a good rotation.

They also have us as THE#1 defense in the Big East.  #18 nationawide.  Not bad at all.

I would hope so.  Ben might be listed behind Nicholas and  St. Louis on 'draft boards'... next year he would be THE leader - like Kawicka... which should raise his profile and give him a better chance of being drafted.

You have to like USF's chances against most of the schedule... with struggling offenses at Kansas and North Carolina, along with lesser talented teams in McNeese, FIU, UCF, and Cincy... and home games with U Conn and Rutgers... It is well within the realm of possibility that we will see an 8-0 team coming in to Homecoming... with a week off to prepare for Pitt... and a cake home finale against the Orange, USF could even be 10-0 heading to Louisville!!

Man that would be a GREAT season.
