Probably won't hurt this year's team.  What can happen, depending on the severity could be stripping of past wins, post-season ineligibility and reduction of scholarships.

What Div I-A Head Coach doesn't ask for academic performance updates of their players?

Seems like KU has a "Don't ask, Don't tell" rule.

When a Div I-A Coach doesn't care or even ask about academics...that's the Coach that KNOWS something is going on but doesn't want to be implicated in it if it ever gets out.
