Neither Nova or Georgetown wants to spend the money to go D-IANeither program is that great in D-IAA football, Georgetown hasn't had a winning season since 1999, Nova is a good program but wildly inconsistent. There are a lot of costs that go into elevating a team from D-iAA to D-IA. Both schools are private and don't have state funding to help them (unlike USF and UConn) and they don't have the number of students to charge athletic fees to (like USF did). Forget ECU, Memphis, and all the other also rans being metioned. They bring absolutely nothing to the football table. TCU has had 4 10 win seasons the last 6 years, I believe. And no, it ain't to far away, I think they are closer to UL, UC, etc. than USF is.
Guest Mike(Guest)
You haven't mentioned FIU - (not another Florida School) who is growing rapidly and meet your criteria of new TV market, large student body. The other extreme is UMass who have dreams about joining the BE to replace BC. They will need to invest but have a solid infrastructure on which to build and are a power in IAA. They would probably win the Sun Belt this year with their present roster.
